You Were Never Meant to Carry It Alone

Writer: Ron HaleRon Hale
Sometimes life will hit you so hard that you don’t even know how to stand back up. There will be moments when your thoughts feels unbearable, when you’re drowning in emotions you can’t even explain. You’ll look around for someone—anyone—to talk to, but no one is there. Or worse, you convince yourself that even if they were, they wouldn’t understand.

But God does.

I heard a quote that said, “Sometimes when you’re in a dark place, you think you’ve been buried, but actually, you’ve been planted.”

That darkness you feel? It’s not your ending—it’s the beginning of something greater.

I know that place. I’ve been there—trapped in a mind crowded with worries I couldn’t escape, searching for answers to questions I couldn’t even name. And the Bible calls it exactly what it is: “the worries of this life.” (Luke 8:14).

If you haven’t been there yet, trust me—you will. Life has a way of shaking everything you once thought was certain. But even in the uncertainty, God remains.

I’ve been in that place where the silence is so loud it suffocates you. Where you try to distract yourself, but nothing works. And when you finally decide to open your mouth and ask for help, no one answers.

But here’s the truth: sometimes, God allows that silence because He’s waiting for you to call on Him.

Before Jesus went to the cross, He withdrew to pray, knowing what was ahead. He fell on His face and cried out, “Father, if You are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but Yours be done.” (Luke 22:42).

And when He returned to His disciples—the people He trusted to stay awake and pray with Him—they were asleep.

Not because they didn’t care. Not because they didn’t love Him. But because they weren’t meant to carry what only Jesus could carry.

God is waiting for you to come to Him, to surrender what you’ve been carrying for far too long. “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28).

The enemy wants to distract you. The moment you start stepping into what God has called you to do, the challenges come. The closer you get to God, the more your path changes. And with that change, some people and things will naturally fall away. But don’t be discouraged—the right people, the ones meant to walk with you, will stay.

Some of you are holding onto things God has been telling you to release. You’re clinging to people who were only meant for a season. You’re holding onto past mistakes that God has already forgiven. You keep replaying situations you can’t change. You carry guilt and shame when grace is waiting for you. You hold onto anger and unforgiveness, thinking it will make things right. Fear is keeping you from stepping into your calling. You’re gripping onto a version of your life that no longer aligns with God’s plan. You’re relying on your own strength when God is asking you to surrender to His.

The enemy wants you to believe that letting go means losing. But in God’s hands, letting go means making room. His plan is always better. Trust Him and step forward in faith.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18).

God never promised an easy road. But He did promise you wouldn’t have to walk it alone.

So when you feel lost in your thoughts—talk to God.
When people don’t show up the way you expected—talk to God.
When you feel like you have nothing left—talk to God.

Because He is listening.

Pray with Me

Father, in the Name of Jesus…
I lift up every person reading this right now. Lord, You see their struggles. You see their silent battles. You see the burdens they carry that no one else knows about. And right now, in this moment, I ask that You meet them exactly where they are.

Break every chain, Lord.Destroy every stronghold.Silence every lie the enemy has whispered in their ear.

Let them know that they are not alone. That they were never meant to carry this by themselves. That You are standing with them, holding them, loving them through every trial, every storm, every battle.

Father, I pray for breakthrough. For peace that surpasses all understanding. For strength to keep going even when it feels impossible.

Lord, You said in Your Word that “You will never leave us nor forsake us.” So remind them today that You are right here. That even in their darkest hour, You are their light.

We surrender to You, God.We trust You.We say yes to Your will.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
