Unapologetically His

ree
This morning, I woke up and felt the presence of God so strong, it was as if He was sitting right next to me. Before I even said a word, I could feel that He was inviting me into a real conversation. Not a quick prayer or a list of requests, but a heart-to-heart talk where nothing is hidden.

As I sat there in that quiet space, my phone lit up with a text message from a close friend. It said: “I’m praying that God removes every third voice that’s speaking against you doing His work on earth.”

At first, I just read it and said “Amen.” But as I sat with God, those words started to sink in. I didn’t realize the impact of that message until I really started talking with Him. It was like God used that text to open up a deeper conversation… one that reached right into my spirit.

Because the truth is, there have been voices. Opinions. Doubts. Even my own fears trying to make me question what God has called me to do. But in that moment, God reminded me: not every voice deserves access to your spirit. Some voices need to be silenced so His can be heard more clearly.

So, I poured out my heart. I told God about my frustrations, my hopes, and my weariness. And as I talked, He began to talk back, not in an audible voice, but in that still, reassuring way only He can. He reminded me of who I am, because sometimes we will forget.

And then I felt Him say, “Stop hiding. Stop apologizing for being who I made you to be.”

Those words stopped me. Because how often do we do that? How often do we dim the light God placed in us so others won’t feel uncomfortable? When God created you, He didn’t make a mistake. When He gave you that voice, that gift, that fire… He intended for you to use it.

The world will try to tell you to tone it down. But if God put it in you, He expects you to let it shine. Jesus said in Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Your light was never meant to draw attention to you, it was meant to bring glory to Him.

I’ve learned that not everyone who smiles at you is for you. There are people who will cheer for you in public but compete with you in private. There are people who love your light until it shines brighter than theirs. But here's what I learned: You can’t let other people’s opinions or silence make you question your assignment. Because the truth is, if you’re doing what God called you to do, opposition will come.

When God calls you higher, not everyone can come with you. And that’s okay. Their approval isn’t your confirmation, God’s voice is.

That text from my friend reminded me of that truth. God will use people, sometimes unexpectedly, to pray away the “third voices” … those distractions, fears, and lies that try to pull you off track. And when they’re silenced, you can finally hear Him clearly again.

Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” That means I can’t try to fit the world’s expectations. I have to keep renewing my mind with what God says about me, because His word, not the world defines who I am.

And maybe, like me, you’ve gotten tired. You’ve given without much return. You’ve loved deeply and felt unseen. But I want to remind you: God sees it all.

Galatians 6:9 encourages us, “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

The harvest is coming, but in the meantime, keep doing what God told you to do. Keep being who He made you to be. Because your consistency in obedience is what builds your blessing.

At the end of the day, everything we are and everything we do should point back to Him. He’s the reason we wake up, the reason we can still love, still give, still believe.

Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I set you apart.” You were set apart on purpose… for purpose.

So today, walk boldly. Not because you’re confident in yourself, but because you’re confident in Him. Walk freely, without apology, because the God who created you doesn’t make mistakes.

And when you walk that way, with humility, courage, and love, people won’t just see you. They’ll see Him.

Pray with me

Father God, Thank You for creating me with purpose, for calling me by name, and for never making a mistake with my life. Forgive me for the times I’ve doubted who I am in You or tried to please others more than I pleased You. Today, I silence every “third voice” that speaks against Your truth. Remove every distraction, fear, or lie that keeps me from hearing You clearly. Help me rest in Your approval, not the world’s. Teach me to shine with Your light, boldly, gently, and without apology so my life reflects Your heart. Every word, every step, every breath, let it bring You glory.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
