God Hasn’t Forgotten You

This morning, I watched a video that moved me. Four young men were riding down an escalator. Coming up the opposite side was another man who handed one of them a bouquet of flowers and a simple note:
“I hope you heal from all the things you don’t talk about.”
That one sentence reminded me how many of us are quietly holding pain, praying for healing and longing for peace. We smile in public but wipe away tears in private. We encourage others while feeling discouraged ourselves. But even when no one else sees what you're going through, God does.
There will be days when it feels like God is silent. You’ll pray, try to live right, and still wonder if He hears you. And sometimes the people you lean on may feel distant; not because they don’t care, but because they may be walking through their own challenges too. Even in that quiet, God is close.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)
No matter what’s happening around you: show up. Show up for yourself. Show up in faith. Despite everything Jesus faced, He showed up. He endured rejection, betrayal, and even death on a cross. And yet, with His dying breath, He said:
“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34)
That’s love. That’s grace. That’s God.
Today, I’m showing up for you: to remind you that your life matters, that you are not forgotten, and that God hears every unspoken prayer and catches every tear. When people go silent, God doesn’t. He’s waiting for you to come to Him with the things you've kept hidden, even from yourself.
I remember one morning waking up feeling overwhelmed. Life closing in, and my heart was full of things I didn’t know how to release. As I stood quietly in front of the mirror, my daughter, just five years old at the time, walked up to me and said, “I love you, Daddy.”
I smiled and said, “I know.”
“God told me to tell you that, Daddy. God said, ‘Go tell your dad that you love him.’”
I looked at her, surprised. “God told you to say that?”
She just nodded and smiled, so calm. In that moment, I knew God was reaching for me through her small voice, reminding me that I wasn’t alone. He saw the silent battles I was fighting, and He wanted me to know He was with me. And He’s there for you, too.
Kindness is never wasted. A note, a text, a phone call, or simply showing up might be exactly what God uses to lift someone’s heart. Your life is not an accident. God designed you on purpose, for a purpose.
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” (Ephesians 2:10)
Don’t let people’s opinions cover the light God put inside you. Keep showing up. Keep being kind. Keep using the gifts God gave you. That video of the man handing out flowers wasn’t just a nice moment; it was a reminder from Heaven that God sees you, knows you, and cares about you more than you realize. He is closer than you think.
“He is not far from any one of us.” (Acts 17:27)
And remember this: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
Seek God over everything else. Ask Him to meet you right where you are. He will.
Let me remind you of who you are, not because I say so, but because God already has:
You're fearfully and wonderfully made.
You're no longer bound by past mistakes.
God has given you a special purpose, and you will walk in it.
You give yourself permission to forgive yourself and others.
Through Jesus, you're stronger than any challenge.
There is greatness in you, and God sees it.
You're God’s child, chosen and loved.
You will not be afraid of tomorrow, or shaken by people’s opinions, because you're who God says you are.
Starting today, you will see yourself as God sees you, loved and strong.
You belong to God, and His love never leaves you.
