A number of years ago, I was out riding my motorcycle on a beautiful summer day. The sky was clear, the air was warm, and everything just felt right. I was cruising around town, not a care in the world. But then, out of nowhere, the sky turned dark. Thunder boomed. Lightning flashed across the sky like fireworks on the Fourth of July. Then came the first drop of rain, slamming against my helmet hard enough to make me sit up straighter. Before I knew it, I was drenched.
As cars passed me by, I remember wondering, What do they think of me out here getting soaked? They were dry, safe, speeding ahead, while I was out there feeling exposed and unprepared. And honestly, I probably should’ve checked the weather before heading out! But hey, it was too late now. All I could do was keep going… and pray the whole way home.
Have you ever had a moment like that? When everything’s fine one minute, and then, suddenly, the storm hits? Life’s storms don’t usually come with warning signs. One moment, you’re on top of the world. The next, you’re knocked down by something you never saw coming: a health scare, financial trouble, the loss of someone you love, or a season where God feels quiet and distant.
But here’s the truth I want you to hold onto: God is with you in every season. Always.
Think about Noah for a minute. He spent decades building an ark: something no one had ever seen or done before. People probably laughed at him. They were partying, living life, not a cloud in the sky… and there he was: hammering away on a giant boat in the middle of dry land.
But Noah trusted God's word more than what he saw around him.
“Noah did everything just as God commanded him.” (Genesis 6:22)
Still, imagine the years of waiting. The questions. The whispers. The doubt. He didn’t have thunder in the forecast: he had only God’s voice. No proof. No blueprint except obedience. But he kept showing up. He kept building. That’s faith.
Why am I telling you this? Because sometimes God calls us to do things that don’t make sense to anyone else. They may laugh. They may think we’re crazy. But your faith has to be louder than their opinions. Obedience to God means saying yes even when the outcome isn’t clear.
Maybe God is calling you to build something right now. Maybe it’s healing from a past wound. Starting something new. Letting go of something familiar. Or maybe it’s simply drawing closer to Him. Don’t despise these quiet seasons; they’re where your faith grow deeper.
And remember this: Your storm may have surprised you, but it didn’t surprise God. Your struggles don’t cancel His promises.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.” (Isaiah 43:2)
God is calling you to trust Him in the storm; whether it’s already raging or just on the horizon. Don’t wait for perfect conditions or clearer signs.Start building your faith now. Step by step. Nail by nail. Just like Noah did.
Listen for His voice above the noise. Obey even when it feels risky. You don’t have to have it all figured out: you just have to be faithful with what He’s given you.
So today, ask yourself: What is God asking me to build or prepare for? What part of my faith needs to grow?
Don’t be afraid to take that first step. Remember, He is with you through every wave, every storm, and every quiet moment.
Your journey with God isn’t about avoiding the storm. It’s about walking through it with the One who holds you steady.
Don’t wait for the sky to clear: move when God speaks. Build when it doesn’t make sense. Trust Him when the clouds gather and when the world questions your obedience. Just like Noah, your faith isn’t about forecasts, it’s about following the voice of the One who sees the end from the beginning. So pick up your hammer, fix your eyes on Jesus, and keep going. The rain may be coming, but so is the promise.
A Prayer for You:
Lord,
For everyone walking through a storm right now, I pray You meet them with strength and peace. Remind them You are right there in the boat with them. Help them trust You, prepare, and move forward: step by step, with confidence and faith. Thank You that no storm is stronger than Your promise.
