No More Noise. The Cymbal has Sounded. It’s Time to Walk.

I had a dream recently, and the words I heard have been resting heavily on my heart and mind. I believe they aren’t just for me, but for you, too.

“There is no more noise. The cymbal has sounded. It is time to walk.”

It wasn’t loud. It wasn’t whispered. It was clear. It was final. I woke up with a peace that felt holy: the kind that comes when God speaks, and everything else falls away.

Sometimes we wait for the perfect sign before we move. We think we need another confirmation, another open door, another reason to believe we’re ready. But what if God has already made it clear? What if the writing is already on the wall, and we’re just afraid to take the first step?

I’ve been guilty of ignoring or running from God’s voice more times than I’d like to admit. Staying at tables God told me to leave. Taking a right when I should have taken a left. Choosing chaos over peace. Listening to the wrong voices when the writing on the wall was clear and the elephant in the room was impossible to ignore. Like Gideon, asking God for sign after sign (Judges 6) when the real issue wasn’t God’s faithfulness, but my fear to trust what He had already said. We’ve all done it, clinging to what feels safe, not realizing that doing things our way keeps us trapped in a prison of confusion when freedom is within reach if we would just walk in faith.

The dream I had spoke to me. It gave me clarity I could no longer ignore. Now that I know what I know, there’s no turning back. God’s voice and commands should never be silenced by our fear or lack of faith. And now that I have the key to freedom, I can’t put it away anymore. People are waiting on us to walk in what God has called us to do.

In Scripture, God often uses sound to mark the moment when waiting ends and movement begins. The trumpet blast that told Israel it was time to break camp. The shout that brought down the walls of Jericho. The rushing wind that filled the room where the disciples were waiting, marking the coming of the Holy Spirit and the start of something entirely new. None of those sounds were noise. They were signals.

When God signals, there is no room for hesitation.

I think about Abraham leaving everything familiar because God said, “Go.” I think about Peter stepping out of the boat because Jesus said, “Come.” I think about the Israelites leaving Egypt because God said, “It’s time.” They didn’t have the full picture, but they had the signal. And the signal was enough.

I don’t know where you are in your journey, but maybe you’ve been circling the same decision, telling yourself you’ll wait until you feel more secure. Maybe you’ve sensed God nudging you to forgive someone, to step into something new, to leave behind what’s comfortable, to start what He’s placed in your heart, but you’re waiting for fear to quiet down before you move. But what if fear won’t quiet until you take the step?

Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” We love the hearing part, but faith is proven when we walk on what we’ve heard.

Sometimes we overcomplicate obedience, waiting for everything to make sense before we move. But when God speaks, clarity often comes after we walk, not before.

The noise that keeps us frozen: overthinking, fear, the opinions of others doesn’t have the final word. When God signals, it silences the noise, and what remains is a simple, holy call to move.

I believe this is that moment for many of us.

It’s time to forgive. It’s time to leave behind the safety of the boat. It’s time to step into the unknown with Him. It’s time to launch what He has placed in your spirit. It’s time to believe that God is with you in what He has called you to do.

It’s not about your readiness. It’s about His faithfulness. The cymbal has sounded. The waiting is over. It’s time to walk.

If you sense this word is for you, take a moment right now. Pause. Let the noise fall away. Breathe in the quiet. And take the first step you know God is asking you to take. You don’t have to know every step. Just the next one. The cymbal has sounded.

Now, it’s your turn to walk.

Pray With Me:

Lord,
Thank You for speaking clearly, for silencing the noise, and for calling us into Your timing. We surrender hesitation and fear, and we choose to walk with You. We trust that as we move, You will guide, provide, and lead us into what You have prepared. Let our steps bring You glory, and let our lives reflect the faith we have in You alone.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
