Bet On Yourself

Writer: Ron HaleRon Hale
When was the last time you truly took a chance on yourself? Not just thought about it, not just dreamed about it, but actually stood up and declared, I will no longer hold myself back!" When was the last time you silenced the fear, ignored the doubts, and believed—really believed—that greatness is inside you because God put it there?

Life will throw distractions, detours, and delays your way. But at the end of the day, the biggest obstacle isn’t life—it’s you. The hesitation. The fear. The excuses. Enough is enough. When will you stop waiting for permission and start stepping boldly into what God has already called you to do?

Too many people hide, afraid to be seen, afraid to fail, afraid of what others might think. But let me make this clear: you were not created to live small. God placed something extraordinary inside of you. That passion you feel? That dream that won’t let go? That vision that keeps you up at night? It’s not there by accident. God entrusted it to you. So why are you burying it? Why are you playing it safe when you were meant to shake the world?

What is stopping you? Fear? Doubt? The voice in your head telling you you’re not enough? That voice is a lie. God does not call the qualified—He qualifies the called. And you, my friend, are called. If you want change, then take action. If you want a new job, go after it. If you want to strengthen your faith, pursue God relentlessly. If you want to get healthy, start today. If you want to chase your dream, stop running in circles and run toward it with everything you’ve got.

And listen to me: faith is not passive. Faith moves. Faith acts. Faith doesn’t sit around waiting for the perfect moment—it creates the moment. James 2:26 says, “Faith without works is dead." You cannot just hope for a breakthrough. You must work for it. Pray, yes—but also move. Because nothing changes if you don’t.

If we are not careful, we can speak things into existence that were never meant to be. There is a reason the Bible warns us that “The tongue has the power of life and death” (Proverbs 18:21). When we dwell on negative thoughts, when we repeat lies about ourselves, we give power to things that have no authority in our lives.

If I had listened to doubt, I would have never written five books. If I had listened to fear, I would have stayed in my comfort zone. But I didn’t, and neither should you. Trusting God is the key. When He calls you, He equips you. Philippians 4:13 declares, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." That includes you. So what are you waiting for?

Right now—yes, right now—I challenge you to take one bold step. Write down your goal. Speak it out loud. Make the call. Send the email. Take the leap. Move! Your breakthrough isn’t in tomorrow—it’s in what you do today.

The Bible says if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). So move yours. Break out of the mindset that says, "Maybe later." No—right nowMark 11:24 says, “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Believe it. Act on it. And watch God move in ways you never imagined.

Stop waiting for someone else to tell you it’s your time. It is your time. Step into it. Own it. Live it. The world is waiting for you to rise.

Let’s pray:

Father God,
I refuse to live in fear any longer. I refuse to let doubt control me. Today, I step out in faith, believing that You have already equipped me for what You’ve called me to do. Strengthen me, guide me, and push me forward. I choose to stop waiting. I choose to act.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
