A Simple Act of Love

You never truly know what another person is going through unless you take the time to talk to them.

Many of you know that my latest book, The Hidden Exchange was recently published. The love, support, and encouragement I’ve received from so many of you have meant the world to me—thank you! But what you may not know is that as excited as I was about finally releasing the book, my heart was focused on something much deeper: helping and encouraging others.

I don’t write for recognition. I don’t create for personal gain. I do it all for God’s glory—because every gift He has given me belongs to Him. But beyond books and accomplishments, what truly moves me is this: the silent battles people are fighting every day. The ones we don’t see on TV, read about in books, or scroll past on social media.

So let me ask you:

When was the last time you shared a kind word with someone—not because they did anything special, but simply because you were thinking about them?

A simple word of encouragement can lift a soul in ways we may never fully understand. It costs nothing but could mean everything to someone in need.

People have told me how proud they are of me for writing books, and while I am grateful, my heart is always drawn to those who are struggling—the man holding a sign on the street corner, the mother at the grocery store counting change for a loaf of bread, the one battling depression, the sick lying in a hospital bed with no one to visit them. That is where my heart is truly tested.

I may not have everything, but what I do have, I will share—because that is how God created me. I don’t give because I want something in return; I give because God first loved me. In a world filled with disappointment, people need to see a glimmer of hope—and that hope begins with you and me.

There are people waiting for your phone call, your text, your forgiveness, your encouragement. Don't wait. Reach out.

So often, we get caught up in our own world that we forget about others. But here’s what I love about God: He never forgets about us. He promised,Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5)

Nothing—not hardship, not loss, not failure, not even our mistakes—can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39). How humbling is that? That the King of Kings would go to the Cross so that we could be free and have a relationship with our Heavenly Father!

So today, let me remind you:
💙 You are more than a conqueror.
💙 You are a warrior.
💙 You are an overcomer.
💙 You can do anything God has called you to do.

If no one has told you this today, I am proud of you. And if I were standing in front of you right now, I would give you the biggest hug—because maybe you need it. And even if you don’t, I guarantee you know someone who does.

So here’s my challenge for you today: Reach out to someone you haven’t spoken to in weeks, months, or even years. Tell them you’re thinking about them. Tell them you love them. Your words have the power to set them—and you—free.

You are here for a reason. Your life has meaning. And I believe in you.

If this is the first time you’ve heard someone say they are proud of you, it won’t be the last. Every time you read this, let it be a reminder of how truly great you are.

And before you go any further, do this one thing:

Find a mirror. Look at yourself. Tell yourself that you are proud of you. Tell yourself that you are loved.

Jesus didn’t go to the Cross for just you and me—He went to save the entire world. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

What a sacrifice. We will never be able to repay Jesus for what He did for us, but we can use our lives to reflect His love to others. Kindness costs nothing—but it is priceless.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your unconditional love. Thank You for reminding me that I am never alone, that You are always with me. Lord, help me to be a vessel of Your kindness. Open my eyes to those around me who need encouragement. Give me a heart that sees, ears that listen, and hands that serve. May my words bring life, and my actions reflect Your love. And when I grow weary, remind me that You are my strength.

I surrender my gifts, my time, and my heart to You, Lord. Let everything I do bring You glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Now go. Encourage. Love. Shine. The world is waiting.
